Shadows and Light Critique

Shadows and Light are equally important in photography, and when used together can result in some truly amazing works. Today I'm going to critique a photo using both Shadows and Light called "Light-Shadow Knight" by Nick Kliford.

Light Shadow Knight

Personally, I really like this image. It makes great use of both shadows and light to create an interesting image. When I see this image, I think it's symbolic of a traitor. It says that someone that looks so trustworthy, could have bad intentions and could betray you.

This photo really stands out because of the simplicity of it. The only item in the photo is knight piece from a chess set casting a shadow. It gives off an ominous feeling because of the eerie contrasting colors and the size of the knight's shadow compared to the size of the knight.

This is a great use of both shadows and light in photography and in my opinion, the photographer, Nick Kliford, did a very good job and is truly talented.
